Sabine quarterback Colt Sparks 'all clear' after injury playing against New Diana

The game between the Eagles and Cardinals was called 32-0 with New Diana in the lead following Sparks' injury.

NEW DIANA, Texas — Sabine Cardinals quarterback Colt Sparks is recovering after he was injured during Friday night's matchup against the New Diana Eagles.

Sparks was injured during a running play at the game in New Diana. After his injury, players from both teams came together in the middle of the field to pray for Sparks. The announcer said during the prayer that Sparks was conscious and speaking when he was taken to the ambulance.

An announcement from Colt's mom on Facebook revealed that he is recovering from the incident.

"Colt was injured in the 3rd quarter of the game last night with the scary thought of neck and head injury," Colt's mother Jennifer Sparks said. "He was sent by ambulance to the hospital and after the CT scans the doctor said that his scans were all clear."

She also confirmed that Colt had suffered from a fracture on his wrist.

The game between the Eagles and Cardinals was called 32-0 with New Diana in the lead following Sparks' injury.

Sparks, who was named East Texas Professional Credit Union Player of the Week last week, is the QB-one for the Cardinals, and he's committed to play tight end at Texas Tech.

Coach Cody Gilbert said last week Sparks just carries himself with a ton of confidence.

"He prepares daily to be successful. I think those are things you learn as you get older and as you get more mature," Gilbert said. "And I don't think we're close to seeing what his ceiling is yet."
