RUSK COUNTY, Texas — The Rusk County Office of Emergency Management announced the county's first confirmed case of COVID-19.

According to the Rusk County OEM, the case is travel related. The person is quarantined at their home.

For privacy concerns, the OEM did not say where the person traveled to when they contracted the virus.

There are roughly 70 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Texas, including at least six in East Texas.

State officials are talking to the patient in Rusk County to determine who they may have come in contact with following their travel.

The county expects more information on this case to be released by the state in the coming days.
