RUSK, Texas — Rusk ISD trustees on Monday approved a four-day school week for the 2023-24 academic year.
According to the school district, the board approved the change with a 4-3 vote. RISD is joining several other districts that have approved this instruction model, such as Athens, Alto and others.
Rusk ISD will have programs and lunches on Fridays for students that want to attend, including for parents that work and don't have daycare, the school said.
