Rotary Clubs of Tyler open entry applications for 2024 Rose City Christmas Parade

This year's theme is "The Magic of Rotary." The annual parade, which is collectively hosted by The Rotary Clubs of Tyler, will be held Thursday, Dec. 5.

TYLER, Texas ā€” Entries for the 2024 Rose City Christmas Parade in downtown Tyler are now open to public organizations, bands and other groups. 

The annual parade, which is collectively hosted by The Rotary Clubs of Tyler, will be held Thursday, Dec. 5, starting at 6:30 p.m. The parade welcomes the holiday season with Santa Claus and the tree lighting ceremony. 

Last year, the parade was canceled due to rain in the forecast. 

This year's theme is "The Magic of Rotary." Winners will be chosen in the following categories: Best Holiday Theme, Best Band, Brightest Entry, Spirit Award, Most Creative, and Best Decorated Vehicle. 

The parade route will start moving south on North Broadway Ave., south of East Oakwood Street, one block north of East Line Street. It will then turn right on West Locust Street, left on North Bonner Ave., left on West Ferguson Street, then left on North Spring Ave. before ending on North Spring at East Ferguson. Participants will finish at East Bow Street.  

Participants are being asked to pay a small entry fee to offset expenses.

Early registration fee from Aug. 15 to Sept. 15: 

  • $50 for all commercial entries. Commercial entries include area businesses and all for-profit entities.
  • $25 for all non-commercial entries. Non-commercial entries include marching bands, groups from schools, churches, scouts, civic/service clubs, and all other not-for-profit entities. 
  • No entry fee for first responders (law enforcement, fire, ambulance, Military, and other similar agencies) and government officials (elected and appointed). 

Registration fee from Sept. 16 to Oct. 15: 

  • $100 for all commercial entries
  • $50 for all non-commercial Entries
  • No entry fee for first responders

Late registration fee from Oct. 16 to 31: 

  • $150 for all commercial entries
  • $100 for all non-commercial entries
  • No entry fee for first responders

All entries have to be approved for this year's parade. Entries will not be allowed to participate if they are not registered and approved prior to the parade date, the announcement read. Registration closes on Oct. 31 or once the parade gets 110 entries.
