SMITH COUNTY, Texas — A Tyler man is behind bars after leading officials on a chase Tuesday morning.
According to the Smith County Sheriff's Office, Charles Griffith, 34, was arrested on an aggravated robbery warrant and additional charges are pending.
The SCSO says he led deputies on a chase with is motorcycle down Hwy. 271 and into Tyler. He tried to ditch his motorcycle and take off on foot, but was taken into custody in the backyard of a home on Pearl St.
He was booked into the Smith County Jail on $700,000 bond.
