Registation opens for 3rd annual Downtown Tyler Arts Festival

The organization is encouraging qualifying artists, including anyone who sells original paintings, sculptures and photography, to register for a booth.

TYLER, Texas — Artist registration has opened for the third annual Downtown Tyler Arts Festival.

The Downtown Tyler Arts Festival is hosted by the Main Street Department and Tyler Art Lift, a nonprofit organization that supports local artists. The organization is encouraging qualifying artists, including anyone who sells original paintings, sculptures, photography, textiles and mixed media, to register for a booth.

In a press release, the city of Tyler said that resellers and mass-produced or unsigned works are not allowed.

Participants are responsible for setting up their own booths on the day of the event. The city of Tyler also outlined additional rules for artists taking part in the festival:

  • Artists must be present during the show.
  • All work presented must be of the artist exhibiting.
  • No booth sharing.
  • Collaborating artists must explain their process in the application.
  • Performers retail all revenue from the sale of their work. Artists are responsible for collecting and paying all taxes.
  • No refunds; the event is rain or shine.

In addition to artist booths, a scavenger hunt, live music, live painting and more are planned. The Downtown Tyler Arts Festival will take place Saturday, Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

For more information, visit Facebook here or reach out to the Main Street team at mainstreet@tylertexas.com or (903)-593-6905. To register for a booth, sign up on the Tyler Art Festival Eventbrite page here.
