Iconic Red Dirt band Cross Canadian Ragweed to reunite for concert with Turnpike Troubadours

Ragweed split up in 2010 with lead singer Cody Canada saying they'd never get back together (like, ever - nod to Taylor Swift).

STILLWATER, Okla. — They said it'd never happened again. And here we are.

The iconic Red Dirt band Cross Canadian Ragweed is reuniting for one night only as part of The Boys From Oklahoma show with co-headliners, the Turnpike Troubadours. The two main acts will also be joined by The Great Divide, Jason Boland & The Stragglers and Stoney Larue for a show on April 12 at Boone Pickens Stadium on the campus of Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK. Presale for tickets begins Oct. 7.

Ragweed split up in 2010 with lead singer Cody Canada saying they'd never get back together (like, ever - nod to Taylor Swift). Canada and Ragweed bassist Jeremy Plato then formed Cody Canada and the Departed, who recently played at the East Texas State Fair.

Canada sat down with Rolling Stone in mid-September to discuss his words 14 years ago.

“I should not have said I’d never do it. When I told you that, I thought, ‘What if we do [reunite]? I’ll have to eat my words,’” he said “Now, I’m sitting right here with a mouthful of my words. You really never know, and you should never say never.”

Ragweed is known for their hits like:

  • "17"
  • "Sick and Tired"
  • "Alabama"
  • "Boys From Oklahoma"
  • "Constantly"
