RAISE A GLASS: Kiepersol wins 'Top Texas Winery' at Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo International Wine Competition

“My dad always said you do things to bring glory to God and make your hometown proud,” co-owner Marnelle Durrett said.

TYLER, Texas — It's officially time to raise a glass East Texas!

Tyler based vineyard and winery, Kiepersol, is bringing home the win after being named "Top Texas Winery" at the 2024 Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo International Wine Competition.

Owners Marnelle and Velmay Durrett are proud to accept this honor and continue serving the East Texas community with their wine products. 

Some of the wines that received medals cumulated in the winning for "Top Texas Winery" include:

  • Dulce: Silver Class Champion, Texas Class Champion
  • Flight: Silver Texas Class Champion
  • Vit: Silver Champion
  • Steen: Gold Class Champion, Texas Class Champion
  • Cabernet Reserve: Silver Texas Class Champion
  • Barrel No. 33: Silver Reserve Texas Class Champion

“My dad always said you do things to bring glory to God and make your hometown proud. We sure hope that we’ve accomplished this for East Texas,” Kiepersol co-owner Marnelle Durrett said.

The owners are excited to bring back the saddle award soon from Houston for their customers to enjoy in their tasting room. 

Those who are interested in visiting Kiepersol can can head to 21556-B Merlot Ln. in Tyler from Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
