EMORY, Texas — Rains ISD recently named its lone finalist for the district's superintendent position.
Joe Nicks is currently assistant superintendent of academics at Kaufman ISD. Prior to that, he was principal at Canton High School 2008 to 2013 and at Lamesa High School 2002 to 2008. Rains ISD trustees appointed him as the top candidate, the district said Wednesday morning.
“It was very apparent throughout this process how deeply the board cares about the community and the school district,” Nicks said. “I am extremely humbled and honored by the trust that they have placed in me, and I am excited to join the Wildcat family.”
