TYLER, Texas — Tyler police say a man who barricaded himself in a house Saturday afternoon is in custody.
According to the Tyler Police Department, a man was barricaded in a house on E. Berta St., near the Tyler Municipal Court, after allegedly assaulting a woman and firing a shot at her. The victim was not hit by the bullet. SWAT and negotiators also responded. The initial call came in around 10:40 a.m.
The suspect was identified as Jerry Jamies, 29. He was booked into the Smith County Jail for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His bond has been set at $750,000.
The scene has been cleared.
