LINDALE, Texas — A pedestrian was struck by a truck and killed Friday night after police say he was walking across traffic in Lindale.
Bill Darling, 60, of Oregon, was walking across US Highway 69 while it was raining around 8:15 p.m. Friday when a large truck struck him. Darling was pronounced dead at the scene, Lindale Police Department Capt. Brent Chambers said.
Chambers said the collision happened in front of the McDonald's as Darling was crossing traffic and the truck driver was going southbound toward Tyler.
While the crash remains under investigation, Chambers said it currently appears to have been an accident.
