Longview police investigating after man found dead with wounds 'consistent with dog bites'

Animal control officers and police officers confiscated multiple dogs from a home in the area of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Rayburn Drive.

LONGVIEW, Texas — Longview police officers are investigating after they found a 46-year-old man dead with what looked like a dog bite wounds early Thursday morning. 

According to the Longview Police Department, officers responded to a 3 a.m. call about a bicycle in the roadway in the area of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Rayburn Drive.  

At the scene, officers found the bicycle and a dead 46-year-old man nearby with wounds "consistent with that of a dog bite."

Animal control officers and police officers confiscated multiple dogs from a nearby home. The cause of death remains under investigation pending an autopsy. 

The Longview Police Department is asking for any video or camera evidence from the area to further this investigation.
