SMITH COUNTY — The Lindale Police Department confirmed that 59-year-old Dallas native Anthony Watkins was the driver of the 18-wheeler that crashed on I-20 and Toll 49 Monday morning.
Police said the cause of the crash will not be determined until after the autopsy.
TxDOT said that crews inspected the Toll 49 bridge over Interstate 20, and the south end of it shifted about three inches during the crash.
Minor damage was inflicted on the bridge, and repairs will be needed.
The bridge's strength will not be affected.
