TITUS COUNTY, Texas — Two people have been arrested in connection to the death of their 23-month-old daughter on Thursday in Titus County.
Jermaine Tyrelle Hooks, 25, is charged with capital murder and Chelsea Lashaun Davis, 25, is charged with interference with public duties. The investigation began on July 2 when the Mount Pleasant Police Department received information that a child died from their injuries in the Children's Memorial Center.
According to the Facebook post, the child's injuries caused investigators to look further into her death.
On Thursday, a Titus County grand jury indicted Hooks for capital murder where he is currently in the Titus County Jail on bonds totaling $2 million.
Davis was issued a warrant for interference with public duties and was also placed into Titus County Jail on Thursday.
