LONGVIEW, Texas — A juvenile was arrested in connection with threats made against Pine Tree ISD in Longview.
Pine Tree ISD said Monday morning a student made threatening remarks online. According to the district, administrators were made aware of the comments during Friday night's football game. They say in cooperation with the LPD, the situation was swiftly dealt with.
Police said in an update that the juvenile suspect was located and taken to the Gregg County Juvenile Detention Center. The child has been charged with felony terroristic threat.
"While our local [police department] investigates the validity of this threat, we want to remind parents to talk to their students about the seriousness of making any type of threatening comments," Pine Tree ISD said. "We will always take every threat seriously because nothing is more important than the safety of our students and staff. We are thankful for our students and parents providing us information and the cooperation and the quick response of the Longview Police Department."
Details as to what the threatening remarks were haven't been made available, but CBS19 will update this article as more information is released.
