LONGVIEW, Texas — Pine Tree ISD trustees received an update from the architectural group that is leading the way on the $55 million bond projects.
"We will have to come in and do a few things in there. That’ll be another summer project. So we’ve got time for those with summer times," Pine Tree ISD Superintendent Steve Clugston said.
As soon as school lets out for summer break, renovations at Pine Tree ISD will get underway starting with restroom renovations at Birch Elementary. Architect Jeff Potter is leading the way in the district’s four main projects:
- Parkway Elementary School additions and renovations
- Pine Tree Junior High School additions and renovations
- Pine Tree High School addition of career and technical education facility and renovations
- New Pine Tree High School baseball facility
The new baseball facility, which will be built next to the softball field at the junior high, along with additions and renovations to the junior high building will start construction late this summer.
"Those two projects are more or less on the same site at the junior high school," Potter said. "There’s a lot of construction and constructive abilities advantages to that."
Renovations to Parkway Elementary and the new CTE building, which will be built where the current baseball field sits, will start early next year.
"(The CTE program) really is the future of what is vocational education at Pine Tree ISD," said Todd Yohn, Pine Tree ISD executive director of facilities and technology.
If all goes to plan, construction on all projects should be done for the start of the 2026 school year. Final blueprint designs are expected to be ready by May 15.
