Gregg County Patrol Deputy struck by vehicle released from hospital, driver charged with DWI

The GCSO confirmed Thursday that the deputy has been treated for his injuries at a local hospital and has been released.

GREGG COUNTY, Texas — A Gregg County Patrol Deputy injured while on the scene of an accident has now been released from the hospital.

The Gregg County Texas Sheriff's Office said emergency responders from GCSO, Texas DPS and Sabine Fire and Rescue were at the scene of a one-vehicle rollover accident on FM 1252 Tuesday. While working the accident scene, a small 4-door Honda traveling east allegedly struck and injured a patrol deputy. 

The GCSO confirmed Thursday that the deputy has been treated for his injuries at a local hospital and has been released.

"He is in good spirits and is expected to make a full recovery," a spokesperson for GCSO added.

The driver of the Honda vehicle has been arrested by Texas DPS troopers and charged with DWI, driving without a license, no insurance and an INS detainer.
