TYLER, Texas — The weather is starting to cool down, and one East Texas nonprofit is making sure all children stay nice and warm during those chilly months.
For over 35 years, PATH has been helping children stay warm through its annual coat drive. This year, nearly 1,000 children are registered to receive new winter coats.
The distribution is set for Nov. 16 at First Presbyterian Church in Tyler. PATH is need of youth medium through adult extra large sizes.
Children can search through the coats and find the perfect fit and one that matches their style.
Executive Director Andrea Wilson-Lovaugh said right now, there is a shortage of coats for older boys.
"PATH works with families who are living in poverty and aren't able to go out to those stores in the mall and buy coats for themselves. So it's a chance for our community to step up and show them that we care for them, show that they matter to us," Wilson-Lovaugh said.
While registration closed on Oct. 31, people can still donate their coats at any time during PATH's business hours. For more information, click here.
