PALESTINE, Texas — Palestine Police Department Detectives executed a search warrant Thursday based off a cyber tip of a suspect downloading child pornography.
The investigation revealed 33-year-old Derek Hernandez had allegedly downloaded child pornography. Hernandez confessed to the crime upon being interviewed by police.
Multiple devices believed by police to contain child pornography belonging to Hernandez were seized by Palestine police.
The online tip was received by Palestine Police Department Detective Kevin Winebrenner, an affiliate of the Texas Attorney General's Office Southern Texas Internet Crimes Against Children's Taskforce.
