7 charged with capital murder after Nacogdoches robbery that left teen dead

"It is believed that this case involved the highest number of suspects ever in an NPD murder investigation," police said.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Seven people have been charged with capital murder for allegedly killing an 18-year-old during a robbery at a Nacogdoches home last week. 

Angel Bonilla, 18, of Nacogdoches, was found dead inside a home in the 400 block of W. California St. that had been struck multiple times by gunfire on July 30. 

On Thursday, police said the following people have been arrested for capital murder: 

  • Raul Molina Lopez, 20, of Nacogdoches
  • Nathan Joshua Sauceda, 21, of Nacogdoches
  • Santiago Mendoza, 19, of Nacogdoches
  • Gerardo Christopher Ocon, 21, of Nacogdoches
  • Lionso Antonio Torres, 19, of Nacogdoches
  • Eder Torres, 17, of Nacogdoches
  • Martin H. Montalvo, 19, of Lufkin

All of them have been booked into custody with one of them in Louisiana. Arrangements are being made for the return of the suspect arrested in Louisiana, Nacogdoches police said. 

According to police, the warrants were issued after investigators determined they believe the suspects planned to rob the individuals at the residence on W. California St. Several people were inside the home when the robbery happened. 

Witnesses told police that at least three out of the seven suspects used firearms during the robbery. Three people were believed to have been struck by gunfire during the homicide. 

Police also said they recovered a large number of firearms while the arrest and search warrants.
