'Parents that always believe in me' | 11-year-old Tyrone seeks supportive family to help keep his NFL dream alive

Tyrone's faith in finding a forever family is rooted in his nightly prayers.

FORT WORTH, Texas — He's an aspiring NFL player and has faith the size of a mustard seed. Today's Wednesday's Child is 11-year-old Tyrone.

WFAA took Tyrone to visit the home of the horned frogs and work out with TCU running back Trent Battle.

"Trent I thank you for being with me to play football and teaching me all these workout drills," Tyrone said happily.

Tyrone's attitude of gratitude is admirable!

"You should be confident in yourself," he said.

His honesty, intelligence and respect for others are just some of the qualities a forever family will love about Tyrone.

"Parents that never doubt me. And parents that always believe in me," Tyrone said about the kind of family he hopes will adopt him.

Tyrone's faith in finding a forever family is rooted in his nightly prayers. He recited it for us.

"Father God, All I want is for you to bless me with a perfect family. There's nothing more I want from you. It's just to have a family. Amen."

After spending four years in foster care, Tyrone wants a family who will be there for him and help him pursue his dreams of becoming an NFL player.

"I want to be a wide receiver," he said.

Tyrone listened carefully to instructions and appreciated the advice he got from a TCU coach who told him to write down his college goals.

"All you have to do is get a journal, pencil or pen and write down I will make it to Colorado University in 2032," he said with confidence.

Tyrone's advocates call him a gem and that he is destined for greatness. And just like all great leaders, Tyrone sent a message of encouragement to the young TCU football player who made time for him.

"You rock Trent. I believe in you! Go Frogs!"
