TYLER, Texas — An original Christmas musical will debut this week to raise money for two local nonprofits.
The Magnificent Journey, a local nonprofit theatrical organization, will have performances of "Saving Snow Valley" this Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 5 to 7 at Pollard United Methodist Church’s Founders Fine Art Center.
The showtimes are at 7 p.m. for Thursday and Friday and 2 p.m. for Saturday.
Elissa Thompson, of Tyler, directed the prequel to this production, "Christmas in Snow Valley," in 2022. The showings raised $8,000 for two local nonprofits. This year's production will go toward Hope Haven of East Texas and Pollard United Methodist Church’s theater ministry.
“This is a unique opportunity to combine my passions for scriptwriting, musical theater, and community service," Thompson said. "I’m so excited to produce a show that not only spreads the joy of the Christmas season but also gives back in such a meaningful way."
Ticket prices are based how much attendees decide to donate. All the money will be split equally between Hope Haven of East Texas and Pollard United Methodist Church’s theater ministry.
“We’ve gathered an amazing cast and crew who have truly put their hearts into this show. This has been a team effort and we hope the community will come together to enjoy the holiday magic and support these wonderful causes,” Thompson said.
