TROUP, Texas — Crews extinguished a fire that broke out at a Troup oil tanker Saturday afternoon.
According to Nikki Simmons, outreach coordinator for Smith County ESD 2, the fire broke out around 1 p.m. on CR 4703.
ESD 2 responded with six career firefighters, a Battalion Chief and six volunteer firefighters. North Cherokee Volunteer Fire Department and New Summerfield Volunteer Fire Department also responded.
The cause will be investigated by the Smith County Fire Marshal's Office.
