Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office warns people of several flooded roads

According to the city of Nacogdoches, both Banita and Lanana Creek water levels are rising and have nearly reached their banks.

Several county roads are closed and two creek are experiencing high water levels in Nacogdoches County. 

According to the city of Nacogdoches, both Banita and Lanana Creek water levels are rising and have nearly reached their banks. Those who live along these creeks and in low-lying areas need to consider evacuating.

The Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office reported Saturday afternoon that several county roads are closed due to flooding. Rainfall has caused the following roads to flood: 

  • County Road 302 at Hughes Bottom
  • CR 392 at the bridge
  •  CR 112
  • CR 120
  •  CR 434
  •  CR 438
  • 4400 block of CR 411 (water over the bridge near Woden)
  • 3700 block of FM 2782 (water over the road)
  • 1000 block of CR 116 (water over the road)

NCSO said the heaviest rainfall is expected to move east and out of the county Saturday evening with a light drizzle continuing throughout the night with possible bursts of rainfall. 

On Sunday, Deep East Texas could see another inch or two of rainfall. 

The sheriff's office asked people to use caution when traveling and avoid flooded roads.
