TYLER, Texas — One man accused of assaulting his wife and proceeding to engage in a hourslong standoff in Tyler Saturday night was arrested.
According to Smith County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Larry Christian, officials responded to a disturbance call around 9:40 p.m. on Saturday at the 16500 block of County Road 165 in Tyler.
When officials arrived on scene, they managed to separate the wife from her husband and transported her to a local hospital for treatment.
Refusing to comply with officers, the man barricaded himself until the early hours of Sunday morning.
Officials identified the suspect as Trent Bright, 54, of Tyler. Bright is currently booked into the Smith County Jail for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on a $150,000 bond.
