LONGVIEW — Authorities in Longview announced they will hold a press conference on Wednesday in regards to the disappearance of Sheryia Grant.
Grant was pregnant and near her due date when she went missing in August 2016.
The Kilgore Police Department eventually changed the status of her case from missing person investigation to a criminal investigation.
Nearly a month after she went missing, the house she shared with her sister burned to the ground. However, Kilgore authorities did not believe it had anything to do with their investigation. In October of 2016, the Gregg County Crime Stoppers increased the reward to $5,000.
Police arrested 22 year old Laneshia Young and 28 year old Allen Sutton Jr. according to the Grant family, Sutton was believed to be the father of Sheryia's child.
Later on, a Juvenile from Arp was taken into custody due to a Directive to Apprehend Order which was the result of a two count indictment for Tampering With or Fabricating Physical Evidence (Human Corpse) Felony 2 and Tampering With or Fabricating Physical Evidence Felony 3.
The indictment was issued by a Rusk County Grand Jury that convened on March 1, 2017.
The conference will be held in the training room of the Gregg County Sheriff's Office at 2 p.m. Wednesday on the fifth floor of the Courthouse at 101 E. Methvin Street in Longview.
