Officials identify woman killed in Cherokee County 4-wheeler accident

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Texas — The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office has released the identity of a woman who was killed in a four-wheeler accident in late March.

According to the CCSO, on March 29, officials received a 911 call just before 11 p.m. in regards to an ATV accident in the 2400 block of County Road 3220.

When authorities arrived on scene, the encountered a group who said there had been an accident involving a 19-year-old male and a 19-year-old female.

EMS arrived and took the male victim, who was the passenger on the ATV, to the hospital where he was treated and released.

The woman, identified as Makayla Miller, of Washington, was the driver of the four-wheeler, according to authorities. She was treated by EMS at the scene, but was pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Brenda Dominy.

Miller's body was sent for autopsy.
