Officials release autopsy result for missing East Texas man found dead in creek

According to the Palestine Police Department, the body of Trenton (Trent) Staneart, 24, of Henderson, was found in a creek off E. Lacy St. on Jan. 28.

The final autopsy results have been released for a Henderson man who was found dead in a creek late last month.

According to a press release from the Palestine Police Department, the body of Trenton (Trent) Staneart, 24, of Henderson, was found in a creek off E. Lacy St. just after 11 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 28. He had been reported missing Jan. 20. 

Staneart's preliminary cause of death is found to be drowning and was accidental, according to Palestine Police Chief Mark Harcrow. 

The toxicology report indicates Staneart used marijuana prior to his death, according to Harcrow.

There was no suspected foul play after his release from the Anderson County Jail, Harcrow said.
