JEFFERSON, Texas — Two people died in the rollover wreck on Monday at US 59 and FM 2208, one mile south of Jefferson.
According to Texas Department of Safety Sergeant Adam Albritton, officers responded to a fatal rollover wreck at approximately 8:55 a.m. at the US 59 at FM 2208, one mile south of Jefferson.
Officials identified the two victims as Jasmine Griffin, 25, and Eddie Bell, 32.
A 5-year-old passenger was injured and later transported to the CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Medical Center in Marshall, DPS said.
The investigation revealed that Griffin was traveling west on FM 2208. Bell was traveling north on US 59. In a third vehicle, Steven P. Brady was traveling south on US 59.
Griffin drove into the intersection and collided into Bell causing that car to roll over. After rolling over, Bell continued and collided into Brady's vehicle.
Brady was taken to CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview for his injuries.
This investigation is still ongoing and under investigation by the Texas Department of Safety.
