TYLER, Texas — New surveillance video shows the moments a burglar broke into a Tyler pizza shop, stealing over $1,000 from the business Friday night. Police are seeking the public’s help to find the suspect.
The burglary happened at New York Pizza and Pasta, located at 1621 S Broadway Ave. In the video, the suspect, dressed in all black, can be seen opening registers and stealing cash.
According to the Tyler Police Department, the suspect stole over more than $1,000, leaving the restaurant cashless.
Tyler Police Department spokesperson Andy Erbaugh said the suspect is still on the run.
"We rely on the community to help us a lot and the citizens of Tyler usually come through,” Erbaugh said. “If anybody knows about this crime or who this person is, no matter how small or how insignificant you think it is, give us a call. Because you never know what may break a case and what may give us the identification of this person or persons that are involved.”
