TYLER — As 2019 gets rolling, a familiar sight on the roads of East Texas will have a new look and a new name.
Champion EMS is changing its name to CHRISTUS EMS and the ambulances and service vehicles will be updated to the well-known CHRISTUS purple colors.
Over the past two years CHRISTUS Health System has joined forces with CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System and CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Health System. Both CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances and CHRISTUS Good Shepherd were the owners of Champion EMS, each with 50 percent membership on the Board of Directors wit both sharing the financial and operational responsibilities.
CHRISTUS says the only changes patients will see is the rebranding of the ambulances and fleet vehicles over the course of 2019.
