TYLER, Texas — The Tyler City Council accepted a donation on Wednesday for a new pavilion at the Rose Garden.
The new pavilion will be placed in the Heritage Garden, according to a press release from the city of Tyler. The pavilion was made possible through a donation from the Gertrude Windsor Garden Club with a value of $81,589.
"We have had a long-standing partnership with the Gertrude Windsor Garden Club, and we are very grateful and excited about the new structure," Leanne Robinette, Director of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Facilities. "This is something that has been in the works for years. It’s going to be a great addition to the garden."
The city has a budget of $25,000 for the installation of the pavilion. The construction of the pavilion is expected to be completed within the coming weeks.
"We're very thankful for The Gertrude Windsor Garden Club that's put in this money," Mayor Don Warren said in a press release. "It'll be a great addition to the Rose Garden, so we're very thankful for that organization."
