DIANA, Texas — A New Diana ISD student is receiving medical treatment after they were struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning.
According to a post from the school district, the student was hit while crossing Highway 259 at the Highway 154 and Highway 259 intersection. First responders arrived quickly and the student was taken to receive a medical evaluation. Their parents were contacted and they are with the child.
"We are grateful for the swift response of first responders and are closely monitoring the situation. Out of respect for the family and their privacy, we will not be sharing further details at this time," New Diana ISD said.
The school district encouraged to talk with their students that they must remain on campus once they arrive by bus, parent or personal vehicle.
