TYLER, Texas — The Tyler Police Department and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration are teaming up to host the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day Saturday in Tyler.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., officers will be collecting different types of prescription drugs such as tablets, capsules and patches at the Brookshire's parking lot located at 100 Rice Road.

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day has helped many locals get rid of unneeded medications whether it's expired, old, or unwanted medication.

This event will offer free and anonymous disposal of unneeded medications.

Officials said certain things will not be accepted such as syringes, illegal drugs and liquid products with broken caps.
