NACOGDOCHES COUNTY — Melissa Smith, a a 36-year-old Nacogdoches woman, was arrested after firing a gun at her husband at around 8:30 p.m. Thursday in a home on County Road 235.
According to the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office, deputies found out that a husband and wife, Smith, were arguing when the wife left the home to go outside and get a gun out of a car.
Smith was not able to find the gun, and went back in the home where she found a firearm. She then pointed the gun at her husband and fired it.
Deputies said that the victim was not hit by any bullets and was able to take the gun away from his wife.
Smith was arrested at the scene by NCSO deputies, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail.
