Nacogdoches voters pass all propositions related to $44M bond

Voters made their voices known at the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 7.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Voters in Nacogdoches have passed all propositions related to the city's $44 million bond.

The bond will address the following issues:

  • Prop. A will fund development and growth at the airport to include a new terminal building, fueling station, taxiways and runway improvements, aprons, and a new entrance road from State Highway 7. A Council Resolution requires that the sale of bond funds for airport projects must include a 50/50 match with other funds, grants, or donations ($7,300,000).
  • Prop. B will fund three new fire stations to replace four existing stations ($16,730,000).
  • Prop. C will fund repairs, improvements, and new installations of storm sewer systems including pipes, inlets and other drainage related structures ($5,900,000).
  • Prop. D will fund new facilities at the Sunset Memorial Cemetery located on North Street, to include a new building, improved space for customers, and other related maintenance or operational facilities ($425,000)
  • Prop. E will fund new restroom and playground facilities at several parks and Pickleball court improvements at Maroney Park ($2,200,000).
  • Prop. F will fund repairs, reconstruction, and other improvements to some of the poorer conditioned streets in the city ($10,000,000).
  • Prop. G will fund sidewalk additions, repairs, and improvements to the city’s 26 miles of existing pedestrian walkways. The downtown area will also receive sidewalk improvements to address accessibility and repairs ($1,435,000).
