NACOGDOCHES, Texas — The Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office seized over 30 pounds of drugs Tuesday after arresting an Illinois man during a traffic stop.
Juan Antonio Diaz, 27, was charged with two first-degree felonies for possession of a controlled substance after he was pulled over for driving over the speed limit with a broken headlight.
Diaz admitted in the stop he was in possession of THC candy, which is illegal in the state of Texas. After receiving consent from Diaz, deputies searched the car, finding methamphetamine and cocaine contained within vacuumed sealed bags.
Police were tipped off about the bags after noticing the back windows not functioning properly. They found 13 bags inside of the doors of the vehicle.
