AUTHORITIES: 2 men dead after apparent murder-suicide in Nacogdoches County

According to the NCSO, the incident occurred around 8 p.m., on Wednesday, Aug. 22, in the 3400 block of SH 7 E.

NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, Texas — The Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office is investigating an apparent murder-suicide.

According to the NCSO, the incident occurred around  8 p.m., on Wednesday, Aug. 22, in the 3400 block of SH 7 E.

When officials arrived on scene, they found Cornelius Ray Craft, 56, of Nacogdoches, and Terry Lee Romine, 48, of Jacksonville, dead with gunshot wounds to the head. 

Authorities say Romine appears to have been the shooter based on evidence at the scene. 

"Craft was married to Romine’s ex-wife, but the motive of the shooting is unclear at this time," the NCSO said. "Evidence was collected at the scene and autopsies have been ordered for both bodies."

The investigation is ongoing.
