MURCHISON, Texas — An East Texas school district confirmed one of their elementary school students died this week.
According to Murchison ISD, a third grade student died early Tuesday morning while visiting a family member for the Thanksgiving holiday. The district has reportedly worked with the family to support them at this time.
A candlelight vigil will be held on Friday, Nov. 29 at 6 p.m. at the school playground. Attendees are asked to wear red to the vigil, which was the student's favorite color.
School counselors and staff will be present to offer support and guidance to anyone in need of it.
The name of the student was not released out of respect and privacy for the family.
