The investigation led to the closure of the two massage parlors in Lufkin including:

  • Blue Water Spa at 709 Atkinson Drive Suite C
  • Lufkin Massage at 505 S. Timberland Drive

According DPS, Angelina County Sheriff's Office and Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office, several citizen complaints led to the investigation of the illicit activities.

Local East Texas advocacy groups Unbound Now and Family Crisis Center of East Texas will be providing services for possible sex trafficking victims, according to city officials.

Detectives were able to discover the employees were living at the massage establishment.

“We will be having conversations with the property owners to make sure they’re fully aware of how sinister these places are and the tragic effects they have on people who are trafficked,” Williamson said.

This investigation is still ongoing and anyone who has more information is urged to call Lufkin Police Department at (936) 633-0356 or Crime Stoppers at (936) 639-TIPS.
