Mt. Vernon ISD student dies after being struck by vehicle

Mt. Vernon ISD's Crisis Intervention Team will be present alongside counselors for students and staff in need of additional support.

MOUNT VERNON, Texas — A Mt. Vernon High School student died after being struck by a vehicle.

Mt. Vernon ISD announced Thursday that David Reeve died from injuries he received after he was struck by a vehicle. He was a junior at Mt. Vernon High School and described as a valuable member of the Mt. Vernon High School Audio Visual team who took great pride in helping to produce the Friday night broadcast for the Mighty Tiger football team.

Mt. Vernon ISD's Crisis Intervention Team will be present alongside counselors for students and staff in need of additional support, Superintendent Jason McCullough of Mt. Vernon ISD said in a statement Thursday.

"Please join me and the rest of Mt. Vernon ISD community in praying for and supporting David's family during ths time," McCullough said. "Once we have been made aware of arrangements, we will share that information with you.
