HENDERSON COUNTY, Texas — An East Texas motorcyclist is dead after hitting an 18-wheeler in Henderson County last Friday afternoon.
Ray Robert Stickinger, 50, of Mabank, was driving a 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle west on FM 85 about three miles west of the Seven Points community and Kyle T. Harmon, 33, of Merryville, Louisiana, was towing a trailer traveling east on FM 85, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
DPS said Harmon's vehicle failed to yield the right of way while turning left and in front of Stickinger's motorcycle onto FM 2613. The bike struck the 18-wheeler.
Stickinger was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. Harmon was not injured, DPS said. The investigation is ongoing.
