LONGVIEW, Texas — An iconic Longview bar and grill is set to reopen this year.
Owner Judd Byrnes is reopening McCann St. Bar & Grill in its original location at 1217 McCann Rd. in Longview.
The longtime eatery and watering hole opened in 1973 before closing its doors in 2012 due to the economic downturn, according to the Longview News-Journal.
It most recently housed Rico’s -- a Mexican restaurant. Before that, Booshay's and Bootlegger's occupied the space.
Before closing more than a decade ago, McCann St. Grill hosted their weekly regulars as well as impromptu high school reunions over Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks, always attracting the same familiar faces.
It was truly reminiscent of "Cheers," where everybody knew your name.
An exact opening date has not been announced, but CBS19 will update this article as more information becomes available.
