LUFKIN, Texas — A man was injured in an auto-pedestrian crash in Lufkin Tuesday evening.
According to the Lufkin Police Department, the man was hit by a sedan traveling eastbound around 8:50 p.m. in the 600 block of West Frank Avenue.
Officials identified the man as Robert Green, 64, who was transported by helicopter to a local hospital for his injuries.
Green was reportedly struck by a Nissan Altima while he was walking in the roadway by Jesus Perez, 36, of Lufkin.
Green is expected to recover from his injuries as he underwent surgery earlier in the week and remains in stable condition as of Friday.
Perez suffered no injuries from the crash.
