TYLER, Texas — One man has been arrested and police are looking for a teenager in connection with the shooting death of a 20-year-old Tyler man earlier this month.
Police said officers found a person lying on the road with a gunshot wound at the intersection of Highway 69 North and CR 489 on Feb. 7 around 11:40 p.m. He has now been identified as Nathan Charles Martin, 20, of Tyler.
Joshua Renae Bryant, 25, has been charged with capital murder by terroristic threat/other felony and other charges. His other charges are burglary of vehicles, possession of a controlled substance between one and four grams, manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance between four and 400 grams and prohibition in a correctional facility His bonds total $1,079,000, according to Smith County Jail records.
Officers are also looking for a second suspect in the case, 16-year-old Caleb Ward. He is from the Whitehouse area, but he is known to frequent the Tyler area. Police have a directive to apprehend him on a capital murder charge. He should be considered armed and dangerous, police said.
