MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas — One man is dead after an apartment shooting in Mount Pleasant on Wednesday evening.
According to Mount Pleasant Police Department, officials responded to the 1708 Shadywood Lane to reports of a woman being harassed.
When officials arrived on scene, officers discovered a man with multiple gunshot wounds outside of his apartment door.
Officers requested medical assistance and transported the man to a local hospital for his injuries. He later passed away from his injuries and was identified as Joshua Freeman, 41, of Longview.
The investigation revealed Freeman and another man were involved in a physical altercation at the front door of the apartment - moments later Freeman was shot several times.
Currently, the other suspect is not identified due to the ongoing investigation but has been detained by officials.
Mount Pleasant officials were able to identify several other witnesses and will be questioning them for further information.
