SMITH COUNTY — A man had to be airlifted to the hospital after nearly drowning in Lake Palestine Friday morning.
According to the Smith County Game Warden, the man was a contractor in his 40s working on a boating dock.
At about 10:30 a.m., he slipped off the dock and fell into the lake.
People nearby the dock helped rescue him and give him CPR.
He was later airlifted to the hospital. His condition is unknown.
