RUSK COUNTY, Texas — A 90-year-old man riding a side-by-side was killed after he turned in front of a pickup truck on US Highway 79 in Rusk County Wednesday afternoon.
Edward Truelock, 90, of Henderson, was driving a utility vehicle west on US 79 and Jose Salazar, 46, of Center, was going east on US 79 after 5 p.m. when Truelock failed to yield, turning left in of Salzar's truck, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The pickup truck struck the utility vehicle and Truelock was ejected. Truelock was pronounced dead at the scene, DPS reported.
Salazar was taken to the hospital in Henderson after the crash. The investigation remains ongoing, DPS said.
