LUFKIN, Texas — Lufkin police arrested early Tuesday morning a Minnesota man accused of sexually assaulting two young children and failing to appear in court.
According to police, David Bernard Suess, 46, was taken into custody on a Minnesota warrant connected to sex crimes against children. His vehicle was found parked outside of a hotel in front of Walmart on South First Street in Lufkin and he was taken into custody around 4 a.m.
Officers notified the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office out of Minnesota of Suess’ arrest. He was taken to the Angelina County Jail, where he remains.
Reports from KAAL-TV in Austin, Minnesota show a warrant was issued after he failed to be in court for accusations of sexually abusing two Freeborn County children from 2011 to 2015.
The first victim was 7 years old and 10 years old at the time of the alleged abuse, and the second victim was about 11, the report stated.
Court documents received from the news station said Suess moved to Lufkin without appearing in court.
