Lovable dog at Smith County Animal Shelter in danger of getting euthanized, needs help finding his home

People can contact the Smith County Animal Shelter at 903-266-4303 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

TYLER, Texas — Mateo is a sweet, lovable dog that enjoys attention and belly rubs, but unfortunately he could be euthanized if he doesn't get adopted soon.

This four-legged pal is just sitting in the Smith County Animal Shelter in urgent need of an adopter or rescue. He eats up attention and loves sitting next to people, according to Saving Pets from Euthanasia in Texas.

He is 3 1/2 years old and weighs 79 pounds. Saving Pets from Euthanasia in Texas said he has been horribly overlooked. Mateo also received a $500 donation for his heartworm treatment.

"Couldn’t someone use a bit of love?  A real lovebug. Please someone come by and get him," Saving Pets from Euthanasia in Texas said.
